OGLEBAY PARK GOLF CLUB

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

 

1)  The entry fee for all club events is $15.

 

2)  The tournament director(s) for each club event shall, in consultation with the event sponsor, and with the advice and consent of the Board of Directors, determine the event pairings, event format, event rules, handicap percentage, skill prizes, skins game, prize money distribution and the number of places paid.

 

3)  The Club President shall appoint members to the following committees:

 

                    a) food committee which shall arrange for food for each monthly meeting and club event.

 

                    b) beverage committee which shall arrange proper beverages for each monthly meeting and club event.

 

                    c) handicap committee which shall be responsible for providing accurate handicaps for each participant in each club event.

 

                    d) scoring committee which shall be responsible for all scoring decisions and totaling scorecards to determine final medal, handicap and skins results for each club event.

 

                    e) rules committee which shall be responsible for all rules decisions for each club event.

 

                    f) 50/50 committee which shall be responsible for selling 50/50 tickets at all club events.

 

                    g) sponsorship committee which shall be responsible for securing and maintaining sponsors for each club event and shall be responsible for maintaining and placing tee sponsor signs on the course for each club event.

 

                    h) membership committee which shall be responsible for recruitment and orientation of new members.

 

                     i) putting contest committee which shall be responsible for administering the monthly putting contest.

 

                     j) prize committee which shall be responsible for securing prizes for each event.

 

                     k) competition committee which shall be responsible for ensuring that all club events are run in a fair and equitable manner.

 

                     l)  capital projects committee which shall be responsible for identifying and recommending appropriate capital projects to the Board.

 

                     m) technology committee which manages the club website, on line registration, payments, and tech issues.

 

4)  At each monthly meeting, the club will distribute one (1) dozen balls to participants of the putting contest based upon contest results.

 

5)  At each monthly meeting, the club will distribute two (2) two dozen balls by random drawing to members present at the meeting.

 

6)  At each monthly meeting, the club will distribute $50 to the first member pulled by random drawing if that member is present at the meeting.  If the first member drawn is not present, the club will distribute $25 to the next member drawn who is present.

 

7)  The club champion shall receive a golf bag in addition to other prizes that may be awarded.

 

8) In order to be eligible to participate in the Club Championship and/or the Senior Club Championship, a member must join the Club by July 1 of the year in which the event is held.
